It’s been a while since we had a Quick Tip Tuesday but I am back with a good one! How to Bake Bacon in the Oven! I switched to making bacon in the oven a few years ago and have never looked back. My kitchen doesn’t get covered in bacon grease, I don’t burn myself on splatters, and the bacon turns out even crispier in the oven! If you love crispy bacon, then the oven is the way to go!
My toddler loves bacon, so I have been trying to include a lot of meals made with bacon. Easy bacon recipes are not hard to come by, since so many recipes are made better with the addition of bacon! I love my oven baked method of preparing bacon because it is hands off and you can throw it in the oven while you cook the remaining parts of your dinner. You can even make a big batch of oven cooked bacon to use throughout the week sprinkled on salads or in pasta! Vegetables are always made better with bacon!

- Put the bacon in a cold oven. This helps keep the bacon from shrinking.
- The biggest question is always what to bake bacon on in the oven? Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. This makes for easy bacon grease clean up and contains the grease so you don’t have any spills in your oven!
- Here is the most important tip if you want crispy bacon! Put a cookie cooling rack on top of the baking sheet so the grease can drip down and the bacon doesn’t have to sit in it! This helps the bacon get crispier, faster!

Ingredients
- 1 lb thick sliced bacon
Instructions

Line a baking sheet with foil. Top foil with a cooling rack.

Spread bacon in a single layer across the cooling rack.

Place bacon in the oven and heat to 375 degrees. Let bake 15 or so minutes and check it periodically. Remove from oven when it has reached your desired crispiness.

Remove from cooling rack and set on paper towels to help reduce greasiness.

Cooking Time: If you are wondering how long to cook bacon in the oven, it varies by your personal taste. If you like a crispy bacon, increase the time by 1 minute at a time until you reach your desired crispiness. If you like a soggier bacon, decrease by 1 minute.
