Mini Tacos have always been a favorite appetizer recipe in our family and I’ve made a wonton taco cup for years. While I still love my wonton tacos, I was looking for an even easier taco recipe to throw together for potlucks and parties. Since the phyllo cups are already made for you ( pick them up in the frozen pie crust section!) all you have to do is brown the meat, add your sauce, and then bake with cheese! These require basically no cooking skill!
How to make phyllo taco cups?
There are really only three steps to making these mini taco cups! First, brown the meat and add lots of taco seasoning, salsa, and taco sauce. This makes for a super flavorful appetizer! Next, add, a small spoonful of taco meat to each phyllo shell, then top with cheese and bake! After 8 or so minutes, you have crispy, crunchy, golden brown taco cups!

Can you make mini phyllo taco cups in advance?
YES! I love make ahead appetizer recipes and these mini tacos are great for making ahead of time! Simply make as directed, but stop before baking. Refrigerate your filled phyllo cups until ready to bake, up to 12 hours. Store them in these handy containers from Amazon.
What toppings are good for mini tacos?
For me, sour cream reigns supreme when it comes to taco toppings. I also like to sprinkle a little green onion for color, but that is definitely not necessary! If you are having a party, set out extra taco sauce, sour cream, onions, and any other taco topping you like. Guests can top their own and make their own taco creations!
