A Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party Part 2: The Food

My favorite part of planning any party is creating the menu.  I really wish I was a laid back kinda gal who could plan a simple menu of pizza and some appetizers, but once my creative juices get flowing, I just can’t stop myself from planning, and then overplanning, a menu. I don’t think anyone has ever described me as laid back and relaxed, it is unfortunately just not my thing (extra unfortunate for anyone who gets in my path when I am having a planning meltdown!)

I love cooking for a crowd and having the opportunity to make things that I don’t normally get to make. Making a menu to fit a theme is fun and I had a great time coming up with food to fit our Mickey theme this year. Once I sat down to write this post I realized that I never took any actual pictures of the food tables once the food was on them! I ran from the oven to the tables with the food and quickly announced for everyone to eat up! I didn’t want anyone to have to wait to eat while I took the perfect picture of the food. Oh well…use your imagination!

We had
Appetizers:

Chips Chip’s and Dale’s Dips: Loaded Baked Potato Dip, Guacamole, and Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip
Daisy’s Garden Veggies: Just Veggies and Dip
Donald’s Cheese and Quackers

I had food tags in front of each dish and used a variety of white, yellow, and red serving bowls. I thought the food all tasted great and I hope everyone enjoyed it! I of course made way too much food, as I always do, and my poor husband will be eating ziti all week for lunch, although I don’t think he minds too much since it is one of his favorites!

I will be sharing some of the recipes from the party this week so check back!

In case you missed it, here is part 1 of the party! Part 1: The Decorations!
