What I’m Thankful For

November 23, 2016

Getting personal and sharing what I’m thankful for this year!

thanksful

I hope you are all getting ready to enjoy mounds of turkey with mashed potatoes and stuffing but I have to stop in and quickly share with you all what I’m thankful for this year. Last year at this time was a little rough. I spent so many days distraught over us having secondary infertility, that I was having a hard time enjoying any of the good things. We made some fantastic memories and had some great times last year, and my then three year old was, and still is, such a blessing, but I was having an extremely hard time enjoying the good things.

Last year, a week before Thanksgiving, we came home from a fertility appointment, went to bed, and were awoken by our electrical panel faulting and catching on fire. It was a traumatizing experience, but woke me up from my fog and showed me that we really had so much to be thankful for. We weren’t harmed, barely lost anything, and were lucky enough to have my parents who welcomed us into their home while the damage was cleaned up. Two weeks later, we found out we were pregnant 🙂

This year, I am so thankful for our sweet baby girl, our hilarious four year old, my helpful and supportive husband, our parents, and all of you. I am so blessed to have you all on this blogging journey with me. A little less than three years ago, I started this blog on a whim. All this time later, you are all still reading, commenting, and following along. Because of your readership and support, I have been able to take almost six months off on maternity leave to spend with my sweet girl. While I wish blogging was all just fun and games, it is a business, and I am so thankful for all of you supporting this business. This blog has given our family so much, and it is all because of you. Thank you.

I am taking a few days off to enjoy my family and to shop till I drop,  but I will be back in December with lots of great holiday recipes!
