The Best Toxin-Free Skin Care and Make Up Products

October 2, 2017

Looking to clean up your skin care and make up? You have to try these my picks for the best toxin-free skin care and make up products!

After trying so many different items, I have finally narrowed down my favorite picks for the best toxin-free skin care and make up products. I hope you love these items as much as I do!

I have recently made a major change and am trying to reduce chemicals in both our household and my cosmetic routine. Over the last few years, I have done my best to switch our household cleaners for more natural cleaning solutions and figured it is time to clean up my make up and beauty products. I am trying to eliminate all toxins and parabens and so far, so good! I cannot believe the difference in my skin. It feels healthy and for the first time in a long time, I feel like my break outs are finally under control.

Did you know that the EU bans over 1300 toxic chemicals from their cosmetics? And the United States only bans 11? Eleven!! Can you even fathom the things we are putting on our skin that are deemed dangerous in other countries? And the average woman’s beauty routine includes putting over 515 chemicals onto her body every single day. Over the course of a year, that is an absurd amount of toxic chemical products. It is so scary that we have no idea what we are putting on our skin everyday and that so many of these products can be toxic and harmful for our bodies. My family has a terrible history with cancer and as I get older, I have realized that I need to start reducing the toxic load that I am exposing myself to.

Here are the swaps I have made recently to eliminate toxins and parabens from my skin care routine!

The BEST Natural, Green, and Clean Beauty Products!

Face Wash : I now use Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil. It is amazing for removing make up and your skin will feel soo soo soft afterwards! Coconut oil is great for skin care because it is anti-microbial and super moisturizing. Seriously, washing my face is my favorite part of the day now, because it is like a mini-facial! I also love the Burt’s Bee’s Coconut and Argan Oil face wash for in between uses with the coconut oil.

Acne Spot Treatment: I used to use super strong benzoyl peroxide to treat my blemishes and it was just so harsh. I have switched to using Tea Tree Oil and love the results. It clears blemishes up in 2-3 days without drying out my skin.

Moisturizer: I am loving this Oil Control Facial Moisturizer from Acure. It is vegan, sulfate free, paraben free and cruelty free. The smell is light and feels so nice on! It really helps with controlling my oiliness throughout the day, too! I think I will try their shampoo next.

Primer: I get up early and have long days, so I definitely can’t skip my primer. I love how this one smoothes out my pores and keeps my make up looking fresh all day long. This version has aloe in it, so it is so soothing and fresh feeling!

Foundation and Concealer: Same brand as the primer, I am absolutely loving this toxic free, make up line made with a combination of safe, certified organic, and EcoCert ingredients. ! It is so high performance and lasts all day long. You won’t believe how well it stays on after a hot day, sweating, or just spending all day chasing around kiddos.

The foundation is amazing and is incredibly light, but still provides great coverage. I have honestly tried so many foundations in my life, and this is the first one that I can truly say I love. The performance is great, but even better is that its made with safe ingredients. I just recently switched my concealer to this brand and I am loving it as well. Again, so light, but still great coverage. It is incredibly creamy and doesn’t crease throughout the day.
