Quick Tip Tuesday: How to Stay Organized When Packing

February 27, 2018

Quick Tip Tuesday: How to Stay Organized When Packing!  This tip is a fun one because I am sharing my number one packing tip and one of my absolute favorite products.  This is seriously a must have traveling product!

A few months ago I found out about packing cubes and you guys, these are a game changer. I first saw another blogger share them on InstaStories and my mind was so blown that  I immediately ordered them. These will completely change the way you pack and help you stayed organized when traveling! Traveling can be stressful enough so I love this traveling and packing hack to help make the travel experience go smoothly!

So here is why you should use packing cubes!

  1. You have a limit on the amount of stuff you can bring! I make a deal with myself that I can only bring what fits in the cubes. This helps prevent overpacking, which I am known to do. And while it limits you somewhat, don’t be fooled by the size of these cubes. You can fit a TON! I can fit clothing for a week of vacation, plus spare outfits, in these cubes!
  2. Your suitcase stays organized. There is nothing worse than a crazy, thrown together suitcase. These cubes keep everything in their place and you won’t open your suitcase upon arrival to find a giant mess! You can also color code your cubes and know that your stuff is pink, kid’s are blue, husband’s are green, etc. It makes unpacking extremely easy.
  3. You can keep your items in the packing cubes to help keep items clean. I worry sometimes about the cleanliness of the dressers at hotels. I love to just throw my entire cube into a dresser drawer to help keep it clean.
  4. Weigh ins at airline counters are less stressful! I am known to pack way more than the 50 lb limit in my suitcase. If you find that you are overpacked, you can just grab a cube and throw it into your carry on!

I purchased a set of travel cubes for my Mom and she has purchased two more sets as gifts, she loves them so much! These are a serious travel game changer and one of the best purchases I have made!

I have tried three different brands of packing cubes and I swear by the E-Bags brand. They are not the cheapest of the varieties, but the fabric and quality is definitely the best with this brand. If you are looking for a more budget friendly version, this version has great reviews, too!
