Ingredients

  • 10 Stand and Stuff Hard Taco Shells-You MUST use stand and stuff. The other guys are too wimpy for this
  • 3/4 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 cup cheese shredded
  • taco seasoning or a blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin, all to taste
  • Toppings: Lettuce Sour Cream, Salsa, Guacamole, Etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a medium pan, add your onion and ground beef and cook until brown. Drain meat if any grease remains in the pan. Drain very well because any grease left on the meat will make your tacos soggy.
  2. Add your seasoning. I use a combination of salt and pepper and then some gourmet taco seasoning I have. Whichever you use, do NOT add the water that the seasoning says to add. You need your beef to be very dry.
  3. Line your shells up in a casserole dish. Place two heaping tablespoons of meat into each shell and then top with a sprinkling of cheese. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cheese starts to bubble. Keep an eye on them so that the shells don't get too brown.
  4. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings! Don't let these sit or they may get soggy.
