These delicious Pesto Meatball Sliders are an amazing tailgate recipe, perfect for your weekend football watching!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Lay bun bottoms in a casserole dish. Place in the oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until lightly toasted. This helps prevent sogginess. While they cook, smear 1 heaping tsp. of pesto on the inside of the bun tops.
Remove bun bottoms from oven. Lay 1 slice fresh mozzarella on the bottom of each, then put a meatball on, a spoonful of marinara sauce, and a slide of provolone cheese. Put the tops on and smoosh the meatball down a little.
Place in the oven for 5-8 minutes, or until cheese is melted and buns are golden brown.
Serve immediately.
