Our house is definitely a work in progress but is getting better every month. We constantly have a project going on, whether we are planning it, implementing it, or waiting for the paint to dry.
Here are some pictures that I took when we first toured the house. Excuse the poor lighting and iPhone pictures. I promise the photography will improve from here on out! We spend the most of our time in the kitchen and living room, as do most families, so this is the best place to start.

We absolutely loved the size of the kitchen when we first saw it and I loved the charm. The exposed brick of the chimney, the beautiful wooden hood and open plate rack! I wasn’t in love with the mismatched appliances (which we replaced on move in day) , the countryish decor, or the green counter tops. I was so in love with the space though, that we knew we could live with the negatives for the time being.

The view from the foyer into our living room had me at hello. |

Original pocket doors here! Swoon!! |
The original woodwork and hardwood floors sold this house to us the moment we walked through the front door. However, the peachy beige walls and bland color palette did not have us jumping for joy.
Now that you’ve seen our kitchen and living room from when we moved in, check back tomorrow for the after pictures. They aren’t very dramatic changes, but have made things much more livable for us until we can afford to bring out the big guns!
