Peach Glazed Spiral Ham
Are you ready to hear an unpopular opinion? I don’t like ham very much…I just can’t get into it. Given the choice, I would make a big lasagna as the main course for holiday dinners if my family would let me and I have done just that. For Easter, I make a massive lasagna and a small ham on the side. We didn’t really eat ham growing up (we had lots of lamb) so I am definitely new to preparing a ham!
A few years ago, when I first hosted Easter, I realized that I had no idea how to make ham. It is actually super easy, especially when you start with a spiral ham! With Christmas right around the corner, it is time to pull the ham recipes out, again! Ham goes really well with macaroni and cheese or cheesy potatoes! Cheese and ham are a natural combination! So are you team Christmas ham or Christmas turkey?
This Peach Glazed Spiral Ham fits my ham recipe requirements. It starts with a spiral ham, which makes this recipe so easy. Spiral hams are fully cooked, so basically you are just adding some flavor with the glaze and then heating through.
Peach preserves are my favorite type of preserve and peaches go so well with the salty ham. The sweetness of the peach and brown sugar balances out the natural saltiness from the ham. The sugars in the preserves cook down into a beautiful glaze that adds such delicious flavor to your ham while it cooks. The sugars caramelize and add color in addition to the flavor.
