ORC Week 4

Okay, I am really feeling nervous this week guys. I don’t do well with making decisions in an allotted amount of time, so the fact that I have to decide all the things in like the next four days is killing me! How should I hang the polka dots? Where should the art go? Does this look awful? Too.many.decisions. I can’t handle it. But I have to finish up so that I can show you our nursery next week!

We didn’t do much this week as it was our Easter and we were hosting dinner. And when I say we didn’t do much, I mean, nothing. Luckily, our carpet was installed, so that makes the room look completely different! I had the hardest time making the decision on which carpeting to use, well, because, I don’t really love carpet. In the previous weeks, you can see that we had hardwood floors in this room. Our entire house has beautiful 100 year old hardwood floors. Our first floor is in excellent condition. The second floor has been hiding under carpeting for who knows how many years and isn’t in the best shape. If we weren’t having a baby, I may have said let’s refinish the floors, but practicality won out and we went with carpeting. I think it is much cozier and warmer for little ones and my daughter was super excited to get some new soft carpeting in her room too!

Check out that crib!!! The color is to.die.for.

We switched out the old hardware on the existing furniture. If you didn’t catch my earlier posts, this was my baby furniture and I am so excited to use it for our baby! I would love to eventually paint it, but the finish doesn’t bother me too much right now.

Here is the original  hardware

And the new hardware! This is the Cavalier Pull from Hickory Hardware in Antique Brass. I love the vintage look of the pull! It fits the style of the furniture perfectly!

We did get some exciting purchases in the mail this week! Jerome’s Furniture was an excellent sponsor of this project and provided us with some accessories for the room! This is a new to me company from California and they have some beautiful home accents. I adore these  lanterns.

I love this ottoman with storage and think it will be the perfect place to put our feet up when sitting with the baby. The storage will be great for blankets and other necessities. I was worried about ordering it because I am not normally a leather fan, but the leather on this is seriously smooth and creamy like butta’. I think it will wipe clean so easily, too.

Here it is just plopped in the room. I can’t wait to fill the storage area with snuggly blankets!

I also ordered these adorable little connecting elephants. They are thick and wooden and can definitely double as toys!

I ordered this beautiful Capiz bowl from Jerome’s as well. It is absolutely gorgeous and I have no idea how to style it in a nursery, but I am certainly going to try because I love it! Maybe some felt balls or other non-breakable decorative spheres? I will have to look around!

Thank you so much to Jerome’s for providing such beautiful accents for our baby’s space! I can’t wait to share these three items all styled up in the final reveal!

I can hardly believe it, but next week will be the final reveal of the room! I have no idea when I am going to finish this up, but somehow, I will!

  1. Ahhhh, the teal crib! Super excited you went with that one! Love the accessories (especially those elephants!) and the carpet. Looking great! And, I SO feel you on being indecisive. I may or may not have purchased 3 rugs and 3 sets of curtains because I just couldn’t decide until the room was painted and I could try them all out. Now I’ve been running all around town making returns! 😉 #thestruggleisreal
