This post has been done in collaboration with Walnut Hollow. I absolutely loved working with their products and all opinions here are my own.

It is time for our Monthly Create and Share Challenge! I love joining up with these ladies to create awesome projects from the same materials. This month we partnered with Walnut Hollow, which has an awesome selection of wood crafting products. If you haven’t tried wood burning yet, they have all the tools for it. I just got one and am so excited to make something with it!

For this month’s challenge, I decided to use their clock making supplies to make a cute clock for our nursery. If you missed my big announcement last week, we are thrilled to be welcoming another baby girl into our family! I am going with a coral and mint/teal theme for her room and thought a cute accent clock would be adorable for her room. Obviously, babies can’t tell time, but since I will have absolutely no track of time during that newborn fog, I hoped this would help me keep track!

I started with Walnut Hollow’s large clock face, large black clock hands, and clock moving parts. I purchased the black numbers, the Martha Stewart Stencil (here is the same one from Amazon!), and paint from Michael’s. The mint paint is called Refreshing and the coral is called Melon in case you want the same colors!

DIY Stenciled ClockI lightly sanded down my clock face and then gave it two coats of melon paint and let dry. I then stenciled on
the design using a small foam brush. I don’t have any great stenciling tips for you other than not to have too much paint on your brush. That will cause seepage. I found that this stenciled had really good clean lines and I loved the little bit of texture it added on the edges. It needed two coats to cover the melon completely. I had originally wanted to keep it square, but after rotating the clock, I realized I liked the design better as a diamond. It also helped to have those 4 diamond points to evenly place the numbers.

I glued the numbers on using hot glue, but I think any good craft glue would work as well. I let it dry overnight and then I followed the directions to insert the moving parts, which was super easy. I don’t love that from the side you can see the white part sticking up beneath the hands, so I think I may take it apart and give it a quick coat of black spray paint.

DIY Stenciled ClockAnd that is it! An easy DIY Stenciled Clock that will be completely unique from anything you can find in the stores! My favorite part of DIY is that you can create exactly what you want to match a room’s decor. I can’t wait to show you it all styled up in our nursery at the end of the One Room Challenge!
