Are you a meat and potatoes kind of family? I’d like to say we are but we are more like a meat and pasta kind of family! I could eat pasta every night! We all love pasta, which makes it an easy go to side dish, but, my older daughter has started to love potatoes, lately! Baked potatoes, fried potatoes, french fries, all kinds of potatoes! After trying a twisted potato from a local food truck, I knew that I had to recreate them at home for her, thus the Air Fryer Tornado Potatoes were born.
What are tornado potatoes?
Tornado potatoes are potatoes that skewered and then are cut in a corkscrew pattern. They are called tornado potatoes because of the shape! You can also call them twisted potatoes.
Can you bake tornado potatoes?
You could certainly bake these potatoes, but you won’t get the same crispiness. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes, or until tender and golden brown. Make sure not to skip the microwave step. You need to lightly soften the potatoes so you can get the skewer through.
We love our air fryer and use it almost daily! It is perfect for reheating leftovers or making frozen chicken nuggets, but it also makes delicious pepperoni pizza egg rolls, cheesy corn fritters, and even french toast! But the number one thing we use our air fryer for at dinner time is air fried tacos! Seriously, these will be the best hard shell beef taco you have ever had!
